I was recently asked if I'd be interested in going to Antarctica for a year.

The Moon is no larger than an American quarter held 9 feet away. When on the horizon, the optical characteristics of the atmosphere may inflate this to about 27 cents. And it's pretty damned cold in Antarctica.

I click on the next blog icon until I come across someone different enough to be willing to provide an honest opinion. Bible Belt conservatives are rarely included here. Here's the question:

What do you think of my criticism of the Institution of Family? Given the fact that the only job requirement for parents is the ability to reproduce, one would expect more people to notice how badly many people do their job as parents. But it seems to be a taboo subject, especially during election years. What's your opinion?

And of course you said yes because it would be a grand adventure, an adventure of a lifetime.
